How To Sell on Target Marketplace

To become a Target Marketplace seller, you must be approved for an invitation to join their partner online program. Once your account is active, you will have access to the Whitelisting Rules and Approval Settings set by Target to help you determine which products are eligible for sale in the Marketplace. For brands interested in participating, Target requires that they meet specific criteria outlined by the company before being accepted to join as a marketplace seller.

To become a Target Marketplace seller, a business and banking presence in the U.S. is required. Prices of brand offerings on Target product listings must be comparable to other sales channels, and images should be formatted as JPGs in RGB mode, with minimum dimensions of 1200 x 1200px and maximum dimensions of 2400 x 2400px. Additionally, images cannot contain promotional language, watermarks, or graphic content; all products must have Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN) or Universal Product Codes (UPCs); orders must ship within 24 hours, with transit time capped at five days.

Regarding Target Marketplace, Cross Border Trade Services are not supported – shipping is limited to the United States. However, sellers can create their own storefronts while Target preserves control over customer experience.

How Much Is the Commission Rate When You Sell on

Target Marketplace sellers must pay a 5-15 percent commission or referral fee. This percentage range is similar to the Amazon Vendor Central percentages and often less than other eCommerce platforms. Referral Fees settings can be found in the Referral Fees section of Target’s eCommerce store; if unspecified, a third-party retailer’s commission rate is determined by the subtype base referral fees.
